![]() He's good at linking with other things, namely the ship in this case. This is war, being strong should be expected, not something out of the ordinary. Megatron, Predaking, Optimus are all stronger than Soundwave. Aside from being skinny, he has long claws too. As others have said he's had a buffer one before. Choosing not to speak is a unique choice it makes him different, not some sort of anomaly. Laserbeak is a drone, and is having a drone really that shocking for a Cybertronian? We have no indication, from what I've seen, that Laserbeak is another copy of himself all it seems to do is be able to uplink with him. My point is, in the grand scheme of things, tentacles aren't really that different or special. Soundwave may have tentacles, but we also have an invincible suit of armor, something that instakills everyone in a certain radius, Wheeljack's new whip, Star Saber, Skyboom Shield, a phaser etc. He has tentacles, which is what I would call odd, but are they really that different to what the rest of the entire Cybertronian race have? Shockwave has a gun instead of a hand, one huge eye, Predaking has wings, Predaking can shoot fire, we have giant insects, and Makeshift could turn into a copy of other mechs. ![]() Covering it isn't that uncommon with Cybertronians, and using a screen isn't too strange, it's just functional and practical. Megatron called it a visor in one episode, so there's also a chance Soundwave still has a normal face under there. The only difference with Soundwave is that he has a screen over his face, which is basically less weird than Shockwave's single, huge eye. He doesn't have a face, but neither does Shockwave really, or the Vehicons. There's only about one or two things about him that are especially different, but even then I don't see him being weird enough to have sparked a comment like that from Ratchet based on what we know. Sure, Soundwave's odd, but so are a lot of mechs.
